A tribute event was organized to recognize Narayan Shrestha, the founding president of Nepali Ghar and a social activist based in Colorado.
A memorial service was held on Sunday at 2:00 pm at the Nepali Cultural Building to honor Shrestha, who passed away on March 20th during medical treatment.
At a memorial gathering for Narayan Shrestha, attendees observed a moment of silence before hearing from over a dozen speakers, including representatives from various associations, celebrities, journalists, social workers, counselors, and former officials of the Nepali Ghar. The audience also donated flowers to his portrait.
At a memorial gathering organized by Nepali Ghar, Raju Seetoula, president of ANESAS Colorado, recited a poem called “Parkhal (Wall)” that had previously been read by Narayan Dai at an ANESAS program.
Narayan Shrestha, a social activist for the Nepali-speaking community, was acknowledged by Nepali Ghar as a humble and inspiring figure for 15 years. A commemorative event was held after his passing to celebrate his life and contributions to the community.
Shrestha held multiple positions at Nepali Ghar, including founder chairman, advisor to the current working committee, and providing loan guarantees for the acquisition of the Nepali cultural building.
Vice President Basant Lamsa led the program, which was presided by Nepali Ghar president Jagdish Dhakal and held at Nepali Cultural Building, Westminster, Colorado.
